HERZLIYA PITUACH, ISRAEL -- Veritas Venture Partners, a leading investor in seed and early-stage high-tech companies in Israel since 1990, is raising a new $100 million fund. The new fund will invest primarily in Internet, communications, and healthcare start-ups in Israel, as well as in the Southeast US. Veritas also announced the opening of an office in Atlanta, to support the fundís Israel-based portfolio and to co-invest with local funds in early-stage opportunities in the Southeast.
Veritas manages funds for several very large multinationals. Veritasís portfolio includes Gilat Satellite Networks (GILTF), M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers (FLSH), Accord Networks (ACCD), ESC Medical Systems (ESCM), Class Data Systems (acquired by Cisco), and Ubique (acquired by AOL); Veritas was the lead first-round investor in all of these companies. Veritas is managed by Yadin Kaufmann, Rann Marom, Gideon Tolkowsky, and Gill Zaphrir in Herzliya Pituach, and Laurie Olivier in Atlanta.
