Founding Partner (Herzliya)
Yadin has been involved in venture capital since 1987, when he joined the
management of Athena Venture Partners, a US/Israel venture fund. He has managed
Veritas's funds since 1990. He has served on the boards of numerous
high-technology companies, including Gilat Satellite Networks, Class Data
Systems, Mercury Interactive, and Escape Rescue Systems, among others. He also
co-founded an Internet company. Yadin also founded and is Chairman of Tmura -
The Israeli Public Service Venture Fund, which solicits donations of equity from
early-stage companies and donates the proceeds from exit events to education-
and youth-related charities in Israel. In 2011, Yadin co-founded, together with Saed Nashef, Sadara Ventures - The Middle East Venture Capital Fund, the first fund targeting investments in Palestinian technology companies.
Yadin is a native of New York and a member of both the New York and Israel
bars. He has experience in commercial law and served as a law clerk to a justice
of the Supreme Court of Israel. Yadin received his B.A. from Princeton
University, M.A. from Harvard University, and J.D. from Harvard Law School,
where he was an editor of the Law Review.
Yadin is Chairman of the Princeton Alumni Schools Committee in Israel.
Yadin received the Israel High-Tech Award from the
Israel Venture Association in 2006 for his contribution to community service
through his work with Tmura.
In 2011, Israelís leading financial magazine, The Marker, named Yadin to the list of the 100 most influential people in the Israeli economy.
Rann has R&D and management experience in Israel's aerospace industry and
Defense Forces. Rann is a board member of Fring and Trivnet Ltd.
Rann was born and raised in Israel, served in Israel's Intelligence Corps and
is a Major (Reserve). He holds a B.Sc. in aerospace engineering from the
Technion in Haifa and an MBA from the European Institute of Business
Administration (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France.
Gill has R&D Innovation and management experience in Israel's Air Force and aerospace industry. Prior to joining Veritas in 1999, he headed the R&D Department of the Israel Air Force.
Gill has served on the Board of Guardium (Data Center compliance and security solutions) from inception until the successful acquisition by IBM, among other portfolio companies.
Gill spearheads Veritas new initiative in the Digital Health space. He's co-Founder of the digitalHealth.il ecosystem and the related international conference, serves on the Board of Medisafe (Family medication adherence mobile platform) and supports the launch of new domain ventures.
He holds a B.Sc. in aeronautical engineering from the Technion in Haifa and an MBA from Bar-Ilan Business School in Israel.
Laurie has been involved in venture capital since 1990, and has been Veritas's partner in Atlanta since 1999. As Senior Business Development Manager and SVP Private Equity at Anglo American (AA), a leading global mining concern, he represented AA's interests in a number of venture funds, including the AAV fund managed by Veritas. He served on the boards of various AAV portfolio companies. Laurie was also a board member of MCPEPA (an East Asian private equity fund) and MCA (a South African fund - Chairman of the Investment Committee). At AA, Laurie pioneered the establishment of new technology-driven businesses, and served on the boards of a variety of publicly-traded and privately-held businesses, including Anglo American Industrial Corporation Ltd. He currently serves on the boards of ClickFox Inc. and various other early stage companies in South Africa and the USA.
Laurie is also a partner of 4Di Capital, a South African based VC firm, and served as an advisor to Columbus VC, the globally focused venture investment arm of Reinet. He [has] served from 2007 to 2009 as Chairman of the American Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICCSE), is a board member of the Southern Capital Forum, served as a commercialization advisor of the Industrial Science and Research Council of South Africa, is an advisor to the University of Pretoria, and has also served as an advisor to the VentureLab of the Georgia Tech. In 2004 Laurie was recognized as VC of the Week by the Dow Jones Venture Reporter and in 2007 was featured by the Atlanta Journal Constitution in its series "Movers and Shakers of the Atlanta Metro". In 2010 he received the Founders Award from the AICCSE.
Laurie was born and raised in South Africa, and holds a B.Engineering
(Electronics) from the University of Pretoria, and a B.Com (Hons) and diploma in Datametrics from the University of South Africa.
Dr. Gideon Tolkowsky
Co-Founder and Former Partner
Dr. Gideon Tolkowsky began his career in venture capital in 1982 with the New York-based firm of Adler & Company. In 1984, he returned to Israel and together with Dan Tolkowsky and Frederick R. Adler, he co-founded the Country's first venture fund Athena venture Partners. In 1990, together with his partner Mr. Yadin Kaufmann, Gideon founded Israel's second venture firm Veritas Venture Partners. Veritas then raised the venture capital fund of Anglo American Veritas "AAV". Most of AAV's capital was invested by Anglo American Corporation (A large, multinational mining conglomerate) and by De Beers. Throughout its 16-year life, AAV achieved exceptional returns, and Dr. Tolkowsky led several of the Fund's highly successful investments.
Gideon holds a BSc. Degree in aeronautical engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, where he later served on the school's Board of Governors. He has an MBA degree from Wharton where he has served on the School's International Executive Board for Europe Middle East and Africa. Gideon also has a Ph.D. degree in history and philosophy of technology and has published a book. Gideon served as a fighter pilot in the Israel Air Force for 27 years and held the rank of Major (Ret.) In 2006 Dr. Tolkowsky retired from Veritas to pursue his private venture capital business via his company BME Capital Management Ltd. Gideon is also co-founder of Crystal Beam Melodies Ltd. A start-up that attempts to commercialize a novel technology for producing music from diamonds (giving each diamond a "musical fingerprint" to enhance the emotional value of owning the diamond)
